🎤 A recent presentation I attended on one of Meadville’s most famous residents, Harm Jan Huidekoper, got me thinking about our history (besides realizing we've all been pronouncing his name wrong! 😆).

📚 We’re lucky to have organizations like the Crawford County Historical Society and Meadville 1825 working hard to preserve and share our past. Meadville’s history—from its days as a trading post to its impact on industry, education, and culture—has shaped who we are today.

🌱 Honoring Our Roots – Our collective heritage—the shared history, traditions, and experiences that connect us—gives Meadville its unique identity and sense of community.

🚶‍♂️ Bringing History to Life – Many cities showcase their history with walking tours, like Boston’s Freedom Trail. What if we created something similar here? A Meadville historical walking tour community event could highlight our historic sites, boost downtown foot traffic, and strengthen our local identity. Let’s put Meadville’s history to work—celebrating our past while strengthening our community today!
